Howdy folks
I finally persuaded my wife to replace her old small car with a base 97
Cherokee we picked up this weekend at a Michigan State Vehicle Auction. It's a
6 cylinder, automatic, air, cruise, power mirrors, am/fm radio,
rear-defrost/wiper, 24,000 miles. Other than that I'm not sure what kind of
transmission it has or rearend, gears, etc.
Immediatle plans are to change the oil and oil/air filters. They run it to our
mechanic for a brake inspection, hoses, etc.
Future plans are to replace the steel wheels and orginal tires with a two inch
lift, new wheels and probably 30 inch all season tires.
Any sites that are geared toward the Cherokee to find out more information
about what we bought would be appreciated.

I don't know much about XJs, but it seems like you have found a jewel @
24,000 miles on a 97.
