Turn-Signal Lever Replacement ?

Can anyone tell me how to replace the turn signal lever on an 1989 Wrangler?
This is the cruise control/wiper control/delay style lever. It broke off
inside the column, right where the metal piece tapers down. I'm not sure
where to begin, as there is not info on this in Chilton or Haynes manuals.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Don
