Transmission Recommendation Help
 

I have an 82 Cj5 with a Chevy 350 and T176 transmission. I have access to a
401 and would like to swap it in place of the Chevy. I know the T176 is not
strong enough to handle the additional torque so my question is what is a
good 4 speed (Not T18) to swap in that will adapt to the 300 transfer
case/adapter and the short drive shaft?

If you could move your motor forward you could use a NV4500 and I thing they
will mate up with a Dana 300.... Atlas would be better...

If you could move your motor forward you could use a NV4500 and I thing they
will mate up with a Dana 300.... Atlas would be better...
