TPC in 96 Cherkee
Hello. My brother owns a 96 Laredo with an automatic trans. 4wd. 4.0
engine. Does this have a dual tps? Would this cause the engine idle to drop and stall, as well as prevent it from shifting out of first gear? He recently power washed the engine. Any thoughts?? Thanks, Greg |

Might have to do it several times, spray, then run, then spray, then run, etc. One note of caution. Never run the motor with the idle air motor removed from the throttle body, the pintle will shoot out and you will have to buy a new IAC. -- DougW |

Also check to make sure it's not milky, powerwashing can get water into places it should not be. I prefer using degreaser and a garden hose on low just for that reason. Idle problems can also cause shifting issues. -- DougW |

Yes, you do have a dual TPS and the classic power wash symptoms. WD40
is the best for this, it will displace the water in the plug and socket of the TPS connection. Mike 86/00 CJ7 Laredo, 33x9.5 BFG Muds, 'glass nose to tail in '00 'New' frame in the works for '08.
