Top Options for an Unlimited
with all this talk about removing windows and tops and all i'm getting
itchy. 2004 unlimited. i want to totally remove the soft top. plenty of storage space, so that's no problem. then, i want a bikini top i can easily take off for full exposure. (i think i just spiked my blood pressure!!) then i want a tonneau (sp??) cover for the rear area, from which the seat will have been removed. finally, i want the piece that goes behind the front seats to close up the passenger compartment. i don't necessarily need something totally water proof, but i would rather not sit in a wet seat if at all possible. the key is i want things i can take off easily but put back on quickly under an overpass if necessary. i'm not going to say money is no object, but i'm only going to do this once and i want to do it right the first time. so, what brand/source is my best bet?? best top seems to be the most prominent, but i'm willing to consider anything. being close to the chesapeake bay, maybe i should even talk to a marine upholsterer about something custom made. anybody got any ideas?? thanks, martin caskey millers island, maryland |

Re: Top Options for an Unlimited
Hi Martin,
I went with everything you mentioned - as far as saying the top is off for the summer, yea!! Well, rain happens. Kids want the back seat open, grand kids are now Jeep crazy. So I went ahead a few years ago and purchased a Window Roll. So now I have my stock top only and ride with it down or up, windowless, and just have the Window Roll to hold the windows for that overpass when it rains. If you are determined to do this go with Bestop.
