Tha's one way to fix it, but now your started kill isn't working so someone
could break in and drive away with the alarm going off. I'd have the relay
replaced asap.

yes put the system into valet mode which shuts down the alarm

But of the realy is stuck open it won't matter of you put it in valet since
the relay contact isn't moving. What he did was the only way to get it
started again. He should get the relay replaced though. It should be
covered by the shop's labor warranty.
