TJ supertop owners: Bowslide replacement
Well, I sold my hardtop and got a super top...very happy with it. Looks
great and the jeep is actually MORE dry after heavy rain then with the hardtop BUT...some jackoff must have jumped on it, like a trampoline, while it was parked...third night I had it...I live in a jersey shore resort town....a haven for all the new york drunks... Came out in the morning and the top was kinda saggy...on the passenger side the little cheap plastic BOW SLIDE thing, with the little "protrusion" or the "slide pin" that you use to adjust tension, was broken... To be fair, its a tough little widget, it still works, kinda...top looks good but...its new right? So......... I contacted Bestop, to get a new piece but they say I have to buy a whole new bow assembly. F*** that!!! 100+ dollars....just paid 550.00!!!!!!!! its got a little rivet deal connecting it to the main bow, i figure I can drill that out but, whats a good replacement? thanks, in advance, for any advice.... |

That would work and will probably not shear off the next time the Joisey Shore bums land on your top. -Fred W |

Re: TJ supertop owners: Bowslide replacement
thought about it, but the break is just forward of the vertical bow and
there is no where to run the rivet...thought about one of those radiator type hose clamps maybe...just have to put the little "tit" on it...thanks though!
