TJ Radiator

Need recommendations for a new radiator for my 2KTJ. I would like to upgrade
for a future HP increase. Any practical experiences shared are most welcome.
Thanks
-Allen

Re: TJ Radiator

I would be concerned that a larger rad would cool the engine too much
and screw up engine temp sensor response and the decisions the engine
computer would make base on temperature. Remember DC does not what you
to use water wetter chemical in the antifreeze and that stuff will lower
coolant temperature just like a larger rad. Maybe a different thermostat
could compensate for the bigger rad?
Remember the computers in charge and the newer engine run much hotter
these days likely for smog control and efficiency.

Re: TJ Radiator

The thermostat controls how cold the engine runs. It will stay closed
until it's rated temp is reached, then it allows flow.

So no matter what radiator or even if you plumbed it right into a lake
like a boat does, the engine will run at 195 F with a 195 t-stat in it.
