TJ brake bleed screw size
I'm hoping someone can tell me what size wrench I need for the brake
bleeder screw on my '01 TJ. The Jeep is not here right now, or I'd check myself! :-) Thanks! -- Kenzie '01 TJ www.route19.com/jeep/ |
Re: TJ brake bleed screw size
8mm fits perfectly tight, but 5/16 will work if you do not have metric.

Re: TJ brake bleed screw size
Because brake fluid attracts water so the bleeder threads will be a
little rusted, and the socket has a that little more area to hold the head before it rounds. God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ mbar wrote: > > Why? |

Thanks for the info guys. Turns out my rear screws were 8mm and my
front screws were 10mm. -- Kenzie '01 TJ www.route19.com/jeep/ jeep@route19.com (Wry-mouth) wrote in message news:<80deba2a.0409160543.bd5c1ae@posting.google.c om>... > I'm hoping someone can tell me what size wrench I need for the brake > bleeder screw on my '01 TJ. That's why they make 6-point box end wrenches. Trying to do a bleed with a socket is a royal PITA, altho I do use one to initally "break" the really stuck ones since it's easier to hold square on the bleeder screw (and usually gets me a longer handle). -- Will Honea |

And squaring it is very important when you're right on the razors
edge, of rounding it. Besides since I've been out of the business I haven't bleed enough to excite the ecologists, just popped the air. Re: TJ brake bleed screw size
matco tools offer a bleeder wrench in a couple of different sizes and it's
one of the best tools i have bought since, i cut breaking bleeder screws off 40% with these tools for some reson the work better than a wrench and or socket "L.W.(ßill) ------ III" wrote: > And squaring it is very important when you're right on the razors > edge, of rounding it.
