I can't think of an instance where I couldn't loosen the red Loc-tite,
or any other color, with a hand tool. tw __________________________________________________ ___________________ 2003 TJ Rubicon * 2001 XJ Sport * 1971 Bill Stroppe Baja Bronco "There is a very fine line between 'hobby' and 'mental illness'." Re: Thread-loc on CB antenna?
Mechanically, Loc-Tite will prevent the antenna from loosening again
from vibration. Electrically speaking, I would be careful not to use very much Loc-Tite since there needs to be good solid metal-to-metal contact for the antenna to work. c wrote: > Correct me if I'm wrong Doug, but isn't the blue Loc-Tite the removable? Use a star washer. Better than a lock washer.

I usually have better luck with just a dab of Contact Cement, again
taking care not to get too much to avoid insulating the needed ground plane contact.
