Individually I may feel sorry for an independent trucker, but if the truckers hadn't screwed the railroads so royally, neither of the two might be in as much trouble as they are. Edward L. I think one of us is hallucinating and I don't think it was me, but
diesel pumps were pretty much standard in many area gas/fuel stations other than the traditional truck stops. The specific regions I recall were in rather "open" territory [having worked at one such] where stations were still car, truck, and actually offered repair services.
