Teraflex Sway Bar Disconnect Washer Fit?

This past weekend, I replaced a broken sway bar end on my '99 TJ Sport
with a Teraflex quick disconnect kit.

To others who have used this kit, on your installation; did the washer
fit between the lower bushing and hitch pin? Mine aren't even close, so
I'm currently not using the washers.

I can either try to grind the washer thinner or trim a bit of the
bushing sides. I've unsuccessfully tried to locate thinner washers locally.

Comments?

Thanks,
Barry

Hi Barry,
One side more than the other, like maybe you could center the bar?
Maybe you could bend the links to be bow legged to align with the axle
mount, because it's important that the washer separate the direct
movement of that end with the key:

I had the same problem with mine and I'm also running without them.
Haven't had any problems after 5 months.

Re: Teraflex Sway Bar Disconnect Washer Fit?

Mine were a bit tight, but did fit. I'd make sure to get some form of
washer on there. If not, the pin will start to eat at the lower bushing. I
lost (or someone stole -- as a prank or otherwise) one of my pins and
washers. I found a pin easy enough, but couldn't get the right washer
(laziness precluded me from modifying one to make it fit). About a year
later my bushing has been somewhat eroded (not badly) by the improper
washer.

Just my 2 cents...
