"Target Idle RPM not reached" (t-200)

I got a shop to read the error code and got this error. They are
telling me that the idle air controller motor is sticking and needs to
be replaced. They are estimating $185 for the repair. I am no mechanic,
but I have been told that this is easy to replace. Anybody got any info
or ideas? Thanks.

Doug

"Sticking" might be fixable with a few squirts of carburetor cleaner. I am
thinking that your shop might have a policy of replacing the entire unit,
because it is a more reliable fix. Maybe you can find someone else, who is
willing to clean it instead.

soooper easy.

NAPA has them
Idle Air Control Valve
21856 53007562 $48.99

Best thing to do is to clean it first with some TB cleaner.
Be careful of the gasket. If you rip it you will need a new one.
And don't pull on the pintle (pointy thing that sticks out
of the coil).
