symptoms of TJ cracked Header
I have a 97 TJ with about 69K miles. I hear a lot of folks are saying that
there headers are cracked. Should i be concerned? Where do I look to check and how would I know if it was leaking? I'm off warranty but if they all do this the dealer should maybe help out. Thanks Jimmy |

Ended up damn near sounding like a backfire every time I downshifted. You're right, the dealer should help out, but I'd be very doubtful that they will. I got nowhere with them anyway. I just drove mine until I couldn't stand the noise anymore, then installed a real header. Dave http://home1.gte.net/res0p2es/david/index.htm |

Re: symptoms of TJ cracked Header
Take a bundle of thick, heavy, DRY rags (or yer ol' lady's oven mitt) and
push firmly against the tailpipe to seal it off.. If it builds up pressure and gets hard to seal, you have no leak. If it keeps runnunig fine and builds no pressure, you got a leak. rb "Jimmy" <jocomanNOSPAM@sympatico.ca> wrote in message news:IQrbb.2734$yD1.213188@news20.bellglobal.com.. . > I have a 97 TJ with about 69K miles.
