Stupid newbie question about JGC front end

I put new brake pads and rotors on my 98 GC (150,000 mi) and while I had
the front end up I found was (I think) too much free play when I rotate the
wheels while in the air.

With the front end elevated, if I spin either front wheel, the other wheel
turns in the opposite direction, but theres about an inch of free play
before the other wheel turns.
It has a QuadraTrack trans with no 2WD selection.

Thanks much,

Rufus

Re: Stupid newbie question about JGC front end

An inch of play before the other wheel turns is not bad at all. You are
dealing with the accumlated slop of 2 splined shafts and 2 gear
interfaces. At 150k that is quite nominal.
