Stroking the 4.0
I have a 4.2 crank that has already been turned. I also have the pistons
(.030 over) that were going to go into my CJ8. Question is; will the pistons that I have for the 4.2 work in a 4.0 block provided the block is bored to match the pistons? Thanks chris Tango Uniform -- 11th Commandant "Thou shalt not lower a Jeep" |
Re: Stroking the 4.0
Hi Chris,
I don't think so, the 4.2 liter has a stock bore of 3.75" plus your ..030" would still be smaller than the 4.0L's 3.875" stock pistons. http://www.jeep4.0performance.4mg.com/photo3.html God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ gosling1 wrote: > > I have a 4.2 crank that has already been turned. Re: Stroking the 4.0
Bummer, thanks Bill. Now to order some more pistons (and find the time to
build 2 engines!) Thanks again chris BT "L.W. Re: Stroking the 4.0
Keep the 4.2 con rods, they're shorter than the 4.0 con rods by .250 or so
IIRC... don't want to mash your valves! Verify this before taking my word on it. -Brian "gosling1" <jduchock@bellsout.net> wrote in message news:A82Mb.18121$qC.2879@bignews3.bellsouth.net... : Bummer, thanks Bill.
