Strange axle info?
Was out wheeling in my CJ today, going up a logging road I came across a
spot where people have been dumping garbage, one of the things dumped was a rear end, as I drove by I could see the front of it, looking like a ford 9", so on the way back I thought I would have a look. It looked like a 9" from the front, as in modular pinion part that unbolts looking like it would take the gears with it, but on the back side it also had a 12 bolt cover, ( counted 12 but wasn't digging in the garbge to double check ) cover looked like my AMC 20, about the same size too, just a dome shape, but in the dead center was a big 1" sq. plug/bolt, wheel bolts were 6 bolt, drums about 11-12", axle tubes were not seperate from center housing but made from one peice from mounting flange to mounting flange. Everyone may say oh that's just a so and so axle, but I couldn't find anything like it on the axle ID charts, GM, Ford, Dana, Toyota, anyone know what it is. |
