Soft Tops

I have a 95 Wrangler and the top above the driver always ends up full
of water when it rains and it's parked outside. It doesn't leak in,
but it has now stretched the fabric quite a bit. I have a pole with a
tennis ball on the end that I put there now, but I'd like to find a
better fix if possible. Any suggestions???

Park backward in the driveway?
I have heard of folks using a sail stay on the inside for really sloppy
ones.

What kind of soft top do you have? I have a 95 Wrangler with a factory
soft top designed for half height steel doors and this does not, I
repeat does not, happen at all and never has. I suspect that you have
something broken or your top fabric is really, really stretched out of
shape. I also have a trail cover and a Bestop bikini top. Those have
both filled up with rain water from day one.
I suspect that you need new top fabric. This is the only real fix for
stretching that bad.
Cheers,
Earle

Thinking about it some more, I guess it helps that I use the bikini top most
of the summer, and the hard top most winters. Still, two or three winters I
just didn't have the heart to take the soft top off, and it didn't appear to
hurt it a bit. The maximum snow depth I allow on the soft top is about four
inches. There's nothing quite like the cleanup process either. Smack the
inside of the top after letting some tailgater get pretty close. One time
the hard top had about two inches of ice on it, and I had to hit the brakes
kind of sudden. Like when you stick the pop glass under the ice machine,
only bigger. It's that time of year again.

Hey, I represent that! 90,000 miles and all I had to pay for so far is a
set of belts, a couple sets of tires, the usual maintance and a $270
speeding ticket to the State of Nevada. Damn nice cars. If I didn't live
in snow country I'd get one of those front end air dams.
