Sloooooow turn signal
 

I have a 1985 CJ7. My turn signal blinks real slow (left, not right). What
could cause this? I think I remember reading that it might be the bul b
going??

The bulb, bad contacts, or a failing ground.

A flasher is just a timed circuit breaker...when you turn on your blinkers,
your sending power through a flasher, switch, bulb then ground. Not
necessarily in the order. The point is that its all in series. As power
eventually reaches and flows through the bulb, there is enough current
flowing through this circuit that the flasher/circuit breaker opens,
shutting off the bulb. The when the breaker inside the flasher cools again,
the circuit is closed, and the bulb is reilluminated, this happens every
second or so over and over again producing the flash. If you increase the
resistance, the flash will be slower. Its true a poor ground or bad bulb may
do it, but any high resistance anywhere in the circuits will slow the flash
down.
