side step info
Looking for nerf bars for my 04 X.
Thinking of Tomken or the Warrior Rock Barz which there seems to be not alot of info on. Any body know how these(Rock Barz) install. Also who has the best price on this stuff? Thanks, |
Re: side step info
I have seen a TJ grind its way around a huge boulder on its Timken bars, and
they also double as a handy side step if you cover the top with non-skid tape. Re: side step info
I have the Tomken 2x2's on my TJ. If you're looking for something to
double as a step, their 2x4's might be better for you. I've had no complaints about mine... they've held up well, and I can even use my Hi Lift jack on them (although I don't like to hehehe). If I had it to do over again, I *might* have gone with Boulder Bars (http://boulderbars.com/) since they mount to the frame at three points instead of just two... seems like they may be sturdier. And in the future, I'm thinking I may just go with some traditional rocker protection like Off Your Rocker (http://www.offyourrockers.com/). I don't really need a step (6'4"), and I'm able to give the wife a boost into the Jeep if needed (kinda fun anyway hehehe). SunPerformance has great rocker protection ...
If one does not need or want the side step capability, then the Sun Performance is an excellent choice. "David C.
