Sedona Jeep trails (light)
 

Hi all,

I'm taking a trip to AZ on Sunday and while there I'd like to bob up to
Sedona for some light, scenic jeep trails.

Can anyone recommend any public, scenic trails I can ride on? I'm not
interested in any rock crawling at this point but if 4wd is needed that's
ok.

When you get there go to the local Pink Jeep company. (Or any Jeep
tour outfit.) Get one of their brochures and then go to a local gas
station and ask how to get to the trails. Try Broken Arrow. Go out to
one of the indian ruins, I believe the name is Honanki. GTry
Rattlesnake if Brioken arrow didn't casre you enough. You can
probably do Broken Arrow even if you are not a rock crawler. Just go
slow and have a look out/spotter. (My rule of thumb, keep the tires
on the gournd and don't spin them. It will give you good experience.
Also the trip up Schnebley Hill is wonderful for sites and very easy
for any jeeper. Ther road is just plain rough. But the views are
terrific.

Shoot me an e-mail <rebottom@msnspam.com> remove spam to reply. I have
several "moderate rated" but lengthy trail descriptions (w/ GPS
coords) I can send you. Schnebly Hill, Broken Arrow, etc. Most of the
trails in Sedona are rated in the easy to moderate category. You will
need a Red Rocks pass if you wish to park or hike, but it's readily
available and inexpensive. Same offer to anyone else who is interested
in AZ trails.

I've heard "regular" cars can drive it, but we found it bumpy enough to be
fun.
