Saw 2004 TJ Willys Edition at Dealer
Saw 2004 TJ Willys edition at dealer the other day. Comes complete with an
Olive Drab paint job, big white star in the middle of the hood, camouflage seating, and a bunch of other military-esque decals all over it.. There was nothing else on it that I could see set it apart from a Sport except the paint job. Some people may like it, but personally it looked a little cheesy to me. Anyway, while I was there, I decided to pick up a new 2004 Sahara (Light Khaki) with 4-Speed Auto, D44, Trac-Loc, 4 Wheel Disc, Dual tops, etc. My 79 CJ-5 needed a little company in the garage. :) By the way, on the '04s they have removed the passenger side airbag lockout. This does not make much sense to me and I am trying to find out what they have done to compensate. Did the '03s have this? Regards, GK |
Re: Saw 2004 TJ Willys Edition at Dealer
No, my '03 Sahara does not have it either. An '03 X I test drove did
have it though. The owners manual says that the airbags are of the reduced power type and that kids *must* ride in back. Perhaps they only put the switch in vehicles that Chrysler felt were likely not to have the back seat installed all the time. I put my 6yr in the front with the seat adjusted all the way back. I'd love to disable the airbag instead, but I don't think it is possible to disable only the passenger side without the factory switch. I guess you could add your own, but I'm sure that would void some warranty. On the plus side I have a neat little coin holder where the switch should go! Talk to your dealer, at one time some auto makers were having the
dealer install the switches at no charge. Tag In article <3f7f5e65$1@rutgers.edu>, Tim Hayes <thayes@remove-me.rutgers.edu> wrote: > No, my '03 Sahara does not have it either.
