Yeah, I'd agree, however I'm npot sure what tires DC puts on the Rubi down
in "G'day"-land. For the OPs info, here in the States they're fit with
Goodyear MT/Rs, which is about as good an off road tire as you can run.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey....jsp?type=ORMT

http://www.epinions.com/Goodyear_Wra...splay_~reviews

http://www.4x4wire.com/reviews/gymtr99/testing.htm

They don't ride or wear as well on the highway as the typical AT tires
found on SUVs, and they are noisy in an open vehicle, so I imagine the
sales people get some negative feedback from buyers who don't
understand the compromises of mud tires driven on the street.

I don't recall many brand new trucks equipped with such aggressive
tires. Even the H2, with all its poser macho-ness, comes with BF/G
ATs, which have a much milder tread design. Manufacturers understand
the challenges of NVH (Noise/ Vibration/ Harshness) and usually pick
very quiet tires for their production line. I am impressed with D/C
for offering great off-road tires even though they will displease some
uninformed buyers.

Take that Rubicon through a mud hole and no one will complain about
tire performance. They are fantastic tires on the trail.

If the MT/R characterictics bother you it would be dead easy to sell
them to soemone who can appreciate them ;) The stock 31 inch Rubie
tires make a great upgrade for a Cherokee owner.
