Rubicon gas caps, pls help...
Hi ...
I want to get a lockable gas cap on my Rubicon. Does anyone know if a generic off-the-shelf lockable cap will work or do I H A V E to use a Jeep product with a special seal? I ask because the generic one sets off a warning light on my GC. Thanks very much. Fred |
Re: Rubicon gas caps, pls help...
A gas cap is a gas cap. Take the stock gas cap to your annual smog
inspections, the locking cap may not pass. "fred" <rubiconusa1@hotmale.com> wrote in message news:3F770A6D.1070102@hotmale.com... > Hi ... > > I want to get a lockable gas cap on my Rubicon. I would purchase one from the dealer. You have to have an adequate seal at
the filler neck in order for the evaporative emissions test to pass, hence the check engine light in your GC. Don't skimp/be a polluter. Re: Rubicon gas caps, pls help...
Plus, they are relatively inexpensive for a dealer item.
