Rise of the machines: Military offshoots battle for customers

Of some interest...

"GM, which acquired the Hummer brand in 1999, is to unveil the H3 SUV next
month at the California International Auto Show in Anaheim. It will have a
220-horsepower, 3.5-liter inline five-cylinder engine and is expected to be
made in Shreveport, La., with the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado
pickups."

The latest issue of Car And Driver has a Rubicon trail test of 5 H3s.
Sounds like they did ok - the H3 should be _much_ better on tight
trails than its bigger brothers.
