If you use a decent newsreader it's extremely easy. If you haven't got
one, get one.
X-news is the best IMO. It's free, much much easier to use than
something like outlook express and has many extra features including
many that will enable you to read any newsgroup without static.
It's a shame to let anyone wreck an RUG (realy useful group). The fact
is, it's not the k00ks like Billygoat or the trolls like me who wreck
groups, it's the other posters who leave because they can't stomach the
clutter.

smelly obscene things that are useful to about 1% of the people that
drive them. So, I'll never ever post anyhting of interest on them at all
(though I would like an old Willys, truth be told)
In short, you can get a decent newsreader and handkily killfile
everything I post and all followups to any post I make. That should go a
long way towards tidying things up.

Well, most of them have potential. Usenet and chat rooms attract people
who can't interact socailly elsewhere. While most of them have at least
a modicum of skills that allow them to at least get what they need as
far as food shelter clothing and maybe even have a dog, plant or Matilyn
Monroe figurine to talk to, these skills are usually fairly moderate and
it's not too hard to provoke them into the sort of behaviour you see
here.
Of course, if oyu poke anyone had enough you'll get there, but usually
after the steam has been blown off they return to sanity.
