Re: xj vs. xterra
Wonder how the Isuzu Rodeo would size up with the X-Terra? The 4 Runner
doesn't come with 5 speed manual anymore, but the Rodeo does (not sure about X-Terra?). The low range in Rodeo is about the same as the X-Terra too, but not quite as low geared I think 2.25:1?. I dunno man... the xterra is simply the Nissan Frontier with an SUV body and clever marketing. I'd take the Liberty over the xterra, but I already know your feelings on the Liberty hehehe. As many drawbacks as the Liberty may have compared to other Jeeps, I think the Liberty would easily take the xterra (or any of the other compact SUV's) in an offroad comparison. Course that being said, I'd rather have the Cherokee back in production. Haven't been following the thread, so apologies if we weren't talking about offroad comparisons etc. Dave http://home1.gte.net/res0p2es/david/index.htm |

Re: xj vs. xterra
As the owner of a Frontier, I'd say I'd rather have the Xterra offroad
than a Liberty. Having had experience with the Honda Passport (Rodeo) I'd say forget it. I'd take a last generation 4Runner over all of them and an XJ over the lot if the offroading got serious.
