Re: XJ lift/control arm question.
I lifted mine 4 1/2 " and have never had a problem on middle class rocks and
gullies. did replace with longer shocks. john "kid4lyf" <b9hise@sbcglobal.net> wrote in message news:%w_Qa.21390$BM.6090964@newssrv26.news.prodigy .com... > What is the most I can lift my 99 XJ before I have to go with longer lower > and upper control arms? > > > |
Re: XJ lift/control arm question.
But do you have any problems with front end angles? ie caster, u-joint
angle, etc. It seems like that much lift would cause the axle to be rotated, changing your drivetrain angles. Re: XJ lift/control arm question.
without longer control arms, the ride will suck, the caster will be off and
you will pull to one side. Also when you hit something just right with your front tire it will punch your front drive shaft right into your transfer case and take it out when the flimsy stock arm folds. Re: XJ lift/control arm question.
again, i raised mine 4 1/2 inches and drive it all over and in the rock
canyons with not one noticible problem and i crawl under it everyother week. been 1/2 way up the rubicon oin northern ca. (turned back because of traffic delayS) to many jeeps waiting in the rocks. john "Kevin in San Diego" <kevin_hedstrom@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:aRKSa.14397$u51.12220@fed1read05... > without longer control arms, the ride will suck, the caster will be off and > you will pull to one side.
