Could be the shift forks in the transfer case. There are little plastic
runners on the end of the forks. They do wear out over time. I had a 231 out of my 87 YJ do that. Later Mike |

I learnt to drive doing that - no syncro on 1st on LandRovers, and what
there was on the rest of the gears was rather worn on mine.
