It's kind of like mathematics education, start with long division and multiplication of large numbers, which calculators and computers do today, followed by real number formulas which hardly anyone does, end with calculus and imaginary numbers which are the mainstay of the mathematician. As long as math education and programming instruction are both handled in this ass-backwards method, we will have no shortage of programs which would serve better as assembly routines in an engine computer than as real userinterface software. So you're saying the people who write these programs dropped out before linked lists were covered in class? That explains a lot, actually... ;) -- Friends don't let friends shop at Best Buy. |
