I've got a 4.2 YJ w/ 2 chamber flowmasters...they are not loud. They are
actually pretty quiet. Quiet enough that I don't like them...needs more sound.
You can hear a lil purr with the top off but with it on...well soft tops just
drown it out.

Do you have any tips on your exhaust. Ansa Turbochromes are very nice chrome
tips that are rock wool lined and sound Extremely nice. These tips in combo
with the Flowmasters will give you a great sound. Not like that ---- you see
on these hondas and other rice burners. I used to have a Mustang GT with a
stock exhaust system and adding a tip to it made hell of alot of difference.

I've used tips before. My muffler dude said I didn't have enough room for the
dual tips they would have stuck out too much. On my CJ I had a glass pack....no
cat and a nice chrome monza tip ( I think it was monza). It sounded so cool.
I'd love to get that sound back.

I have been shopping around for a header for my 4.0. My muffler guy said
stock was already stainless steel and better than most aftermarket headers
out there. Unfortunately mine has a crack in it. I did find a place online
that makes a stainless steel replacement with upgrades that makes for a
better than stock replacement. Price is 160.00 bucks...
