Get a tool called a "Screw-Knocker". It's an aircraft tool that you use
with an air-hammer (yes, HAMMER, not wrench). It's essentially a hex
shaped bit that fits into your hammer head with a wrench fitted over it
and a bit holder so you can use it for screw bits, torx, sockets or
anything else. You apply force (wieght) to the tool to hold it firmly on
your fastener head, pull the air hammer trigger and use your hand on the
wrench to apply turning force. The hammer vobrates everything so much
that you'll probably be surprised how little force you have to use with
the attached wrench to turn even the worst rusted fasteners. I know I
was. I stripped almost every bolt holding the doors on my 1950 Willys
Wagon using every tool I could think of, then bought the screwknocker. I
pulled every one so easily with this tool it was shocking. I also got
the unbelievably rusty tailgate bolts out with only a little work. This
tool is a Godsend!

should try and find one?

The air knocker sounds good, but I haven't invested in a air compressor yet

I'm sure others have used those 'whackit' type impact drivers
successfully, but I've tried 3 of them and every one just wasted $10
each. The bits however are great in the screw knocker, which I suppose
makes them a little less of a waste of money to me. You must know
someone with a small compressor that you can borrow. Most hardware
stores will rent you one for about 4 hours for ~ $10. That's gotta be
worth getting every bolt out of your jeep worth the investment. You'll
spend enough replacing broken fasteners & stuff and trying out 'almost
works' tools to buy a knocker for $20 and rent a compressor for a day. A
Harbor Freight or other ElCheapoGrande air hammer only costs about $6 or
$7. Just make sure you lube it regularly while you use it and it'll be
fine. If you let any air tool (especially ElCheapoGrande) run dry,
that's when you'll have problems with them.

Even if you don't have air tools and a compressor, you should be buying
impact components whenever you can for bits and adapters. They take a
beating like you wouldn't believe. I only buy impact stuff from HF and
other import joints and I have yet to break a single one. Even whacking
them with a Big F%#@ing Hamme... I mean a precision impact 'Micro-Adjuster'.
