Approximately 10/2/03 15:48, Paul Brogren uttered for posterity:
> Does the engine need to be at normal temperature when adding water through > the carb? Wasn't sure if it should be done when engine is cool or warmed up > to temp? You want the *small* amounts of water to flash into steam as soon as it hits the combustion chamber. If the engine is too cold, the water may cause it to stall or stumble, then you have to try to get it started again. |

Re: Carbon Deposits?
Does the engine need to be at normal temperature when adding water through
the carb? Wasn't sure if it should be done when engine is cool or warmed up to temp? Thanks Again, Paul |
Re: Carbon Deposits?
Success!!! That worked pretty good. Did the water thing through a spray
bottle. I did it twice. Between checking the spark plugs/piston tops. The first run 16 oz. water seemed to take about half off. I shot another 16 oz. through, but now it's too dark in the parking lot. I'll check in the AM. -- Thanks Always !!! Paul '75 CJ5 258 Vail, CO.
