In my days past, the modulator valve on the outside of the transmission
would rupture its inner seal and the vacumm would pull the fluid into the
intake manifold and burn it with the fuel. WHITE SMOKE was a sure sign of
tran. fluid burning. just replaced the modulater in 15 min. and ok.
Now i do not even know if they use modulator valves , but check it out
