Re: 2.5L 4 Cylinder Question

Mike,

Thanks for your input. I did buy the jeep and am pretty happy with
it. The body is in very good shape. There is very little rust. On
the underside there is quite a bit of rust. If it was ever wrecked I
can't tell. The paint looks like factory. The woman who owned it
said she had it detailed every year. The oil pan has quite a bit of
rust along with the brake lines. The bracket at the union of the
exhaust manifod and the exhaust line was a bit loose. I was able to
tighten it a bit. After reading about exhaust manifold bolt problems
and cracks, I tried the best I could by inspection and blocking the
tail pipe and checking for leaks. The only leak I could find was
through the little hole in the bottom of the muffler. I think thats
normal.

Thursday after work its going in for emissons insp and Ill have the
mechanic look at a few things.

Thanks,

Alan

Re: 2.5L 4 Cylinder Question

As someone who owns both a 2.5l and 4.0l I still think the 2.5 is just fine
95% of the time and it's a lot funner to drive (except on the illinois
tollway) because of of the higher revs it seems to like.
