What Mike said about the sweet spot. I suspect that 2000 rpm will be a
bit low and 2500 a bit high for best mileage.

You have that backwards, the higher engine speeds come in the lower gears.
5th gear will spin at 2000 while 4th spins at 2500.

You have that backwards, the higher engine speeds come in the lower gears.
