picked up my Rubi yesterday.. wow ! I know now what I have been missing

well I had reported back last week that I bought a new, red rubicon auto..
that deal fell through at the last minute. so this past weekend, while at
my sister in law's we went to check out a Kahki colored rubi just out of
town. This one is an '03, has soft top, 7 speaker sound, air, manual, 1/2
doors and that's it. This one was gently used for 3000 miles. It was
owned prior by a Jeep employee's wife. I ended up getting it for $22,700.
Pretty much right at KBB price. Still has the new car smell too. It had
been titled since Dec '02 built Nov '02

This deal went through pretty quickly. .. and to my suprise, my credit union
gave me a whole point lower interest rate..Whoo hoo !!

I am loving this rubi .. my first Jeep !! God, I know now what I have been
missing.

Can I somehow register my name and VIN with Chrysler or whomever so they
know I too own a Jeep now? I want to be kept in the loop on special
offers, Jamborees etc..

anything I need to know specifically about these Rubis ?

Dave

Congrats on the "second" Rubi. That Khaki is probably the most popular
color of '03. Get rid of the new car smell by taking off the top and
leaving it off! :)

Read your owner's manual on the use of the lockers and 4WD since it's
your first Jeep. Have fun!

Congrats! Assuming you got the owner's manual that should have come with it,
there's a card in the warranty booklet for change of ownership / address.
You can also call the DC customer center at (800) 992-1997. They'll take all
your info and put you in the system.

DC has got your number already. The salesman sent it in.

Better than waiting for DC to send you invites, you should locate a Jeep
club in your area and hang out with them.

Congrats.

Never seen a link on www.jeep.com for registering for jamborees
etc. Don't mean there hain't one tho.

Two good links off www.jeep.com. One is the "Go 4x4 It"
and the other is the "For Owners". Pick yourself up the
Factory Service Manual. Even if you never touch a wrench,
it will be the best investment you ever made, and if you
*do* wrench on it, the thing will pay for itself in one
repair.

You can also get the "build order" for your vehicle by
sending the VIN to DC customer service, or go to most
good dealers for the same info...complete list of
everything that was on it at the factory.

One thing to consider...Jamborees are a great (albiet expensive) way to
discover the capablities of your Jeep. I would suggest looking into a local 4x4
club as well.

Special offers on what? This forum is probably the best place anywhere to find
real-world advice on Jeeps, if you can wade through the bulls*t :-)

Welcome to the fold...

www.jeepjamboreeusa.com

One thing to consider...Jamborees are a great (albiet expensive) way to
discover the capablities of your Jeep. I would suggest looking into a local 4x4
club as well.

Special offers on what? This forum is probably the best place anywhere to find
real-world advice on Jeeps, if you can wade through the bulls*t :-)

Welcome to the fold...

In any case, enjoy your rubi. They're awesome. (should I have written,
"there awesome" or "their awesome" instead, just to keep in line with the NG

Re: picked up my Rubi yesterday.. wow ! I know now what I have been missing

well I wouldnt think DC would have my specific new Jeep owner info. I bought
this off a used lot.. it has 3400 miles and has been titled for 9 months.

I called the Jeep magazine people and they have forwarded on my info. I
just want to be kept in the loop from their end. I hoping by doing this,
they can send me info when necessary

I've purchased several brand new Jeeps and that type of information is
largely non-existent in my mailbox. Do what CRWLR says and locate a Jeep
club. You can also contact DC directly on their website where info.
abounds on Jamborees, 101 and such.

I'm sorry, I understood that you bought it from a DC dealer's Used Car lot.

Go to your local stealership, they can load you into the database from the
parts department.
