Parts purchase question...

Thanks in advance. I will be doing a bit of front end work on my 88 XJ and
was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this vendor and or
parts:
http://replacement.autopartswarehous...%20Hub&dp=true

The $36.39 hub I'm assuming is a reman/rebuilt. I've had good luck with
some rebuilt parts, others I avoid, don't know anything about Crown. Any
opinions on hubs? The $101.75 I assume is new, that's similar to the
chryslerpartsdirect price.

They also seem to have a good price on ball joints (I plan to replace all
since they have over 275000 miles on them). Again I don't know anything
about Crown?
http://replacement.autopartswarehous...%20Kit&dp=true

I'm currently on a bit of a budget but don't want to put junk on my vehicle
so welcome any thoughts.

Dan

Haven't heard anything on Crown, but check out www.partsamerica.com . They
work with your local Shucks/Checker/Kragen. Basically, select your parts
list on partsamerica.com, print it out. Take it into any
shucks/checker/kragen, and they'll match the prices. Prices are generally
5-30% cheaper than if you go into the store.

I bought a replacement headlamp and turn signal from a vendor
that used crown. They were junk. A cheap and worthless knockoff
of the OEM part that would only be useful if I was intending on
selling the ZJ. I had to go back and get factory parts.
Crown is just an importer of overseas parts. Quality is not obviously
one of their strong suites.

Your best vendor is either the dealer or NAPA, but if you go NAPA
get the NCP (Napa Chassis Parts) versions as they are usually as
strong if not stronger than OEM. The steering balljoints I got
from Napa look like they could handle 33" tires.

But, why would you want to? One objective here was to not purchase
junk. Kragen/shucks/checker carries nothing BUT junk.

If folks here can't afford OEM parts, head for NAPA instead. Avoid
Autozone, Kragen, Pep Boys and the rest of the junk peddlers altogether.
The only decent aftermarket parts I've ever bought (incl. reman.
parts) were from NAPA. The rest of the cheap crap on the market won't
last a year.
