Re: Over heating
How long does it take to overheat?
If it takes awhile then maybe you have a bad new thermostat or a bad radiator (maybe fins clogged with debris). Some have converted to an open radiator system when they had to purchase a new radiator, but I chose to keep my closed one stock. Does the radiator get hot and does the electric fan come on? Did you get all of the air out of the cooling system. Kinda hard to burp some of these cooling systems. <g> Oh and they sell backward pumping water pumps (one for the I6 engines with V-Belts instead of the serpentine belts). I hope you were not sold the wrong pump. :-( I would hate to think engine, but my cylinder head was cracked on a core engine I purchased to have rebuilt. later, dave AKA vwdoc1 88 XJ 4.0 auto "ylop" <fusion1169@aol.com> wrote in message > My 1990 jeep cherokee over heating, already change water pump, stat and > relay, help anyone? its also making a knocking sound from the engine??? > > Thanks > |
