OT - Warn Overdrive
This may be blasphemous to you Jeep lovers, but I'm a '63 IH Scout owner
trying to track down a Warn Overdrive unit for my truck (Dana 18). Hoping to run across a used or rebuilt one, trying to stay away from the new units supplied by Advanced. EBay has netted no results so far. Don't be too cruel : ) ! thx |
Re: OT - Warn Overdrive
Why be too cruel ??
I heard that some scouts have parts that work real well in older Jeeps ; ) Another thing that would work. You can get a conversion kit for your dana18 (terra low) that would make you vehicle go way slower in 4 low and keep the same ratio in 4hi/2hi. if you re-gear the diff's in such a way that it makes your vhicle go less slow in 4low, then you somewhat have an over drive in 4hi/2hi. might be an expensive way to do it though, sometimes an easy to swap in replacement for your tranny might be easier and less expensive (and with older vehicles you might be able to find one real cheap. I found my T18 for $35, needed some work though) david wrote: > This may be blasphemous to you Jeep lovers, but I'm a '63 IH Scout owner > trying to track down a Warn Overdrive unit for my truck (Dana 18). Old Scouts are neat, don't see many left on the road around here.

Except, he's already got a bullet proof machine, Borg Warner T-90,
Dana 18 and Dana 44s. If he finds a Warn overdrive he'll be able to split gears like the dirt trucks and their Browning or Fuller auxiliaries, and look at all those sticks: http://www.public.asu.edu/~grover/willys/od.html God Bless America, ßill O|||||||O mailto:-------------------- http://www.----------.com/ Ron Croonenberg wrote: > > Why be too cruel ?? > > I heard that some scouts have parts that work real well in older > Jeeps ; ) > > Another thing that would work.
