That's because we haven't let the Iraqi pilots fly in our "no-fly zone" since '91. And what would they do with a Navy, they're landlocked, we took Kuwait from them. This could have been easily World War III if we hadn't finally finished the '91 Gulf War. Now lets finish Syria.
