OT ping Bill Hughes
Bill,
I have a question for you. I am a member of a woodworking newsgroup as well as the Jeep group. There is a jackass for lack of a better expletive who is causing alot of trouble for everyone there. I know you know how to report abuse on the usenet so I came to you. Can you give me some advice. This guy has made me (and a bunch of others too) so mad I almost want to track him down. PS I saw on the news that Cleveland Nat'l Forest is on fire. Is it near you? Hope not. -- Rich Harris :1986 CJ7, Detroits F/R, 4:10's, 33"BFGMT's, Mopar F/I, 4.0L head, Rubicon Express 2.5" Wrangler springs, Procomp MX6 Shocks, and a bunch more fun stuff. |

Hi Rich,
Sorry to hear. You're using Outlook Express, when you have the violator's post up, hit File, Properties, Detail tab, and high light and copy the header, then back at his post hit Forward and paste it into that email. Then look for his address, usually the Message-ID, and NNTP-Posting-Host: are hard to fake. Check the IP numbers out at: http://www.dnsstuff.com/ for Internet Service Provider. And to abuse at any news server they are using, usually they are trying to hide behind Google or Giganews. I my case you would forward it to abuse@cox.net Better instructions at: http://spam.abuse.net/ My header looks like this: Path: dukenews1.cox.net!duke.cox.net!cox.net!p01!dukerea d08.POSTED!53ab2750!not-for-mail Message-ID: <43E7E187.CC1F97FC@cox.net> From: L.W.(ßill) ------ III <----------@cox.net> X-Mailer: Mozilla 4.78 [en] (Win98; U) X-Accept-Language: en MIME-Version: 1.0 Newsgroups: rec.autos.makers.jeep+willys Subject: Re: Wandering wrangler References: <4dednSvJR7FmWHreRVn-vA@adelphia.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Lines: 43 Date: Mon, 06 Feb 2006 15:53:43 -0800 NNTP-Posting-Host: 68.101.176.149 X-Complaints-To: abuse@cox.net X-Trace: dukeread08 1139270206 68.101.176.149 (Mon, 06 Feb 2006 18:56:46 EST) NNTP-Posting-Date: Mon, 06 Feb 2006 18:56:46 EST Organization: Cox Communications Xref: cox.net rec.autos.makers.jeep+willys:567629 X-Received-Date: Mon, 06 Feb 2006 18:56:46 EST (dukenews1.cox.net) Nothing about a fire on the television. Re: OT ping Bill Hughes
Glad to hear you won't have to run for it this time. I was
in one in Topanga Canyon when I was a kid. It sure was something seeing that band of flame coming up over the ridge. Grandma threw me and the dog in the flivver and headed for relatives in The Valley. We passed the men-folk, loaded in a pick-up with their picks and shovels from work, going up to save the house. At night it looked just like Hell! Seahag "L.W.
