OT: computer prob/question
had my teenage cousin over over the weekend. (now you know it ain't gonna
get good from here) at times he gets on and looks at some non-'G' rated websites. told him not to cuz when the younger cousins get on they, the websites are in the history, not to mention virus probs an who knows what else he's opening me up to. well i think he's done with using my laptop. ya' know how you can go into history and erase what has been typed into the address field, well i've erased the histroy but i am still getting a site that is popping up with the quick fill-in option. (i don't know what it is called but you know how you type in 'ya' and then 'yahoo' fills in itself) i know that if an address is in your favorites and you clear the histroy when you start typing the address will still auto fill-in. i ran spy-bot and ad-ware software and can't get rid of the friggin' thing. i've searched my favorites to see if somehow the website had added itself into favs but no luck. any ideas on how to get rid of this thing!?!? best i can figure out i'm spared of any bad bugs but i want to clean this out so none of the little ones happen onto there. thanks in advance for any help. y'all have a great day. jason ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==---- http://www.newsfeeds.com The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! >100,000 Newsgroups ---= East/West-Coast Server Farms - Total Privacy via Encryption =--- |
Re: computer prob/question
if you are using internet explorer 6.0 there is an option you can turn off..
go to Tools then Internet Options then click on the Advanced tab in the options popup window Under --browsing category there is a check box about 24 lines down called "use inline AutoComplete" when this is checked , it tried to auto fill based on your history etc. Internet Explorer might have asked him if he wanted this turned on when he was playing around. dave === you must first take out MYUGLYSISTER to email me privately === "JC" <madduck00@yahoo.com> wrote in message news:41e3e921$1_3@127.0.0.1... > had my teenage cousin over over the weekend.
