Okay, I got some pretty decent info today. I talked to one of senior
mechanics that I know from our Public Works Fleet Maintenance dept. He said to do a visual pressure test. I agree it will take a keen eye, but he said once the bolts are just finger tight, turn each bolt just until one sees a very slight visual gasket pinch. He said it works great. Do you need Loctite or what? With parts falling off all over the West, I
like to think my oil pan will stay with me for the long haul. Having screws only tightened basically finger tight on something that can spell the end of a good day, or the start of a bad one, makes me nervous. Although, 7 ft lb is something that could be accomplished with a nut driver ...
