oil and changes
What's the consesus of the group on brand of oil in the 6 cylinder? I've
got 1700 miles on my wrangler and was going to follow the change oil every 3000 miles chart. Any comments? Rick Dowling |

Any comments? Personally I prefer Mobil 1 synthetic, but any oil that meets the manufacturer's specs will be adequate. * * * Matt Macchiarolo www.townpeddler.com www.wolverine4wd.org "We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty." -Edward R. Re: oil and changes
What kind of driving do you do?
If you check in the owners manual, it might mention sooner intervals for 'extreme duty' use. That means short stop and go trips not allowing the engine to fully warm up or heavy duty off roading. If I am doing mostly highway runs, I go longer. That is 'light duty'. Mixed, then 3K is right on. Re: oil and changes
I also agree Mobil 1. I have a friend in New Hampshire that has a 94
Cadillac with 282K on the clock, motor runs like new, never a major repair. He changed his oil every 15K and the oil filter at 7.5K.
