OBD location 94 Cherokee?

Hey all,

I got a 1994 Cherokee 4.0 and for the life of me cannot find the OBD
connector. I found a 6pin (maybe 8pin) connector attached near the center
console on the drivers side. It's not an OBD II. Does anyone know if Jeep
started using the OBD II in 94 like most of the other manufacturers? I know
it became standard in 96.

Any other way to get codes other than via OBD?

Thanks,
Brian

Try looking by the ECU. passenger side, on the firewall
in the engine bay. for some years they didn't extend the connector
back into the cab.

Does anyone know what this connector *is* for? I have it on my '93.
As far as fault codes, the Chrysler ignition key / check engine light
method works on mine.
