Novak Still Lying -What Goddamn Balls!

A reader posts:

The 262"^3 Chevy V-8 small block was built in 1975. The Chevy "small
block"
V-6s were produced in 200, 229 and 4.3L sizes and all were odd-fire
V-6s.
Any of them would make excellent Jeep motors. See:

Still found on their web site:

"Diesel engines are a great idea for Jeep swaps. However, they seldom
materialize successfully past the idea stage. The lack of good,
light-duty domestic diesel engines makes these swaps a discouragingly
difficult process. Foreign diesels are usually quite advanced, but are
difficult to find and maintain. If you do manage to install one of
these, US diesel fuels are less refined and have a higher sulphur
content than foreign purposed fuel, and generally incompatible with
foreign designed and produced injectors.

If you are considering a diesel engine for the sake of novelty, you
may find that it requires more commitment and cash than novelty is
worth. If you are seeking them for fuel economy or efficiency, you may
consider a modern, clean burning fuel-injected gas engine. "

What --------! A lie, not even wrong, but a lie.

Many Euro and Japanese engines have been sold here continuously for
decades. Every Thermo King or Carrier reefer truck has one. They have
all been happily burning our diesel for decades. If you get an used
Isuzu, MBZ, Mitsubishi, VM, Deutz, Nissan, or VW engine here it's been
burning our stuff for years.

The only engine that might have a problem would be the high pressure
common rail VM-that DCX is putting in the Liberty this year. And since
they're doing it I doubt it is.

If these cocksuckers are going to flat out lie like that, maybe you
should not buy anything from them. Can you trust them?? No!

Why trust them with your credit card number? I wouldn't! They are
----in' liars and they will go to hell if they don't quit.

You got a one track mind don't ya?

Give it up, you will not convince North Americans stinky diesels are

The issue is not what you or I think best, but that he thinks Novaks are
willfully stating things that are untrue.

I don't think the people at Novaks are smart enough to know the difference. I
called them up and it was my impression that the founder had died and the kids
had no real ability to do anything but copy the old product by rote. This
happens a great deal in small town businesses everywhere. The kids don't go to
school, and aren't encouraged (or allowed) to do anything on their own. You get
a business that keeps on making the old product as long as they can and when
demand finally dies they quit.

Whatever the rest of North America decides, I want a diesel TJ. Right or
wrong. But when fuel here is priced like fuel in Europe, you'll be following
behind.
