No Coolant flow in 5.9
 

Posted earlier about a temp gauge problem. Turns out I'm getting no
coolant flow in my 98 Zj 5.9 . Replaced thermostat, tested it before
it went in and was ok. While I had the t-stat housing off I tried
spinning the water pump pulleu and got some flow out of the stat hole
on top of the motor. I don't know what else it could be? I can let
engine warm up and rad. is still cool, upper rad. hose is empty.....
Any help is GREATLY appreciated

Did you find that temperature sender? I like to take out the sender, fill
the coolant, and wait until some comes out the sender hole. In my
experience this gets rid of all "air locks" that might be your problem. Now
if your upper radiator hose is actually empty, you need to fill the radiator
until the hose has fluid in it.

Did you find that temperature sender? I like to take out the sender, fill
the coolant, and wait until some comes out the sender hole. In my
experience this gets rid of all "air locks" that might be your problem. Now
if your upper radiator hose is actually empty, you need to fill the radiator
until the hose has fluid in it.

the coolant, and wait until some comes out the sender hole. In my
experience this gets rid of all "air locks" that might be your problem. Now

I've cured air lock by just cracking open the Prestone flush and fill
cap on the tee. The air goes "pssssss" then some water comes out.
Securely tighten cap.

You will need to try and fill it more I believe. There should be no air
at all in a cold system. As it expands when hot, it goes to the over
flow and comes back when it cools down so the rad is always full to the
top.
