of the Oklahoma panhandle to the city of Perryton..... a 7 hour drive...her

I put Napa's best on the front of my TJ snd could feel a stiffer ride than
stock and very smooth.

My sympathies - went through that a couple of years back. My run was
Colorado Springs to Abilene, so I know your roads pretty well.

I've gotten the best ride improvement in my Comanche by going to straight
hydraulic shocks - the gas charged ones that were on it about beat me to
death. Same results for my son's 91 XJ and a Nissan 4x4 pickup my
daughter bought. On the pickups, the problem boiled down to the really
light rear end acting like a superball with those stiffer gas shocks but
they made a big difference on the XJ as well. The handling changes a
little but the overall ride is so much more comfortable that I'm quite
happy. I put Rough Country hydraulics on the pickup on the recommendation
of Bob Supplee who runs a shop up in Oklahoma. He knows Jeeps and his
prices were good - about $130 for all 4 - but I haven't seen his name come
up on the group in a while. You might try him at 405-799-8977 if he is
still around. There are some other suppliers like Doetch (sp?) but I
would suggest you check with a local shop to make sure you get the right
shocks for the vehicle. I like the gas charged shocks in the wife's
little sports car but I much prefer the softer ride of the hydraulics on
the trucks.
