Re: Need to learn about rebuilding 2.5
The only concern I have with that is minimal costs in re-mating it to my
current tranny, driveshafts and etc. I would love to have the extra power, but I worry for my axels etc... Also I don't know alot about re-hooking up all the electrics etc. Nick "DougW" <post.replies@invalid.address> wrote in message news:cJ77b.685$8o3.153@news2.central.cox.net... > Nick N wrote: > > Due to high miles, I need to get my 4cyl out of my 93 yj rebuilt. Then go visit the shop and get an idea of costs. Usually what happens is you get a rebuilt engine and they take your core (old engine). Most of the time the rebuild has nothing on it and you have to transfer all the accessories over. If you have time and a second method of trasporation it may be worthwhile to do it yourself. It will be cheaper. But you will need a good tech manual (service book, motor, chiltons) and the proper tools. Good luck. -- -- DougW -- 93 ZJ 4.0 http://members.cox.net/wilsond HESCO Supercharger - 300W IASCA Stereo - Edelbrock IAS Shocks Gibson Exhaust - rear DCpower - custom gauge install - Stillen Rotors |
